WARDOGS Controller Support & Aim Assist Status
WARDOGS has limited controller support in the current version, according to the developer-pinned FAQ. BULKHEAD has discussed gamepad support in its pre-order devlog, but the written official pages do not publish a complete supported-controller list, menu-coverage matrix or final aim-assist specification. Keyboard and mouse remain the safest assumed PC input at launch.
The current official controller status
The pinned developer FAQ says controller support is limited in the current version. The August pre-order announcement also says BULKHEAD's “10 Reasons” devlog covers gamepad support, showing that the team is discussing the subject openly.
Neither source supplies a final device matrix. It is therefore too early to promise complete support for Xbox pads, DualSense features, Steam Input layouts, menu navigation or every vehicle control.
Is controller aim assist confirmed?
Community discussions repeat statements about basic aim assistance, but the current written Steam product page and developer FAQ do not define its strength, modes, matchmaking effect or settings. This guide leaves those details unconfirmed until BULKHEAD publishes them directly in writing or the live build documents them.
That distinction matters because tuning can change quickly during playtests. A comment about one pre-release build is not a permanent Early Access specification.
What controller players should expect
Treat controller use as an evolving Early Access feature and keep a mouse available for setup or menus until full coverage is confirmed. Test infantry aiming, inventory, construction, map controls and each vehicle separately rather than assuming one working action means the whole interface is supported.
If controller support is essential to a purchase, check the Steam feature badges and newest patch notes on release day. Steam's current WARDOGS feature list does not advertise a formal full-controller-support badge.
Controller support is not a console announcement
Gamepad input on Windows does not confirm a PS5 or Xbox release. The game is currently being developed for PC, and the developer FAQ says future platform availability will be considered as development progresses.
It also does not confirm Steam Deck compatibility. Deck play additionally depends on Linux/Proton, Easy Anti-Cheat, performance and Valve's compatibility review.
